Harleston based musician meets love of his life on Tinder

An award-winning musician from Harleston has had his life changed forever after meeting the love of his life on a dating app and writing a song about her.

Rapper Jake Aldridge, 32, met Lisa Hartgrove, 36, from Harleston on Tinder and was her first match, just moments after she signed up to the app.

They then spent all evening messaging each other before going on their first date.

The pair, who share the same birth date, got engaged earlier this year, exactly two years after their first date and Mr Aldridge has since written a song about his fianceé called “King of the World”.

He said: “We matched and I contacted her straight away. We went on our first date and immediately knew Lisa was special. She was very attractive and there were no red flags whatsoever. We got on brilliantly.”

Mr Aldridge, who is also from Harleston and recently bought a house in the area with his betrothed, has been writing songs since the age of 17.

He began writing the song for his fianceé on the day he bought an engagement ring and even convinced her to be part of the backing vocals within the song.

“Lisa has been so supportive,” he said.

“She is very much into my music and has been an inspiration for me to keep writing.”

Mr Aldridge’s path into music began when he started writing poetry at the age of 11 after his father died from being struck by lightning on a fishing trip.

His career has blossomed in the years since, and he won Male Act of the Year at the 2018 International Achievers’ Awards and the Audience Choice Award at the 2017 New Music Generator (NMG) Awards.

His music has also been aired on an American television documentary.
