Organiser Andy Taylor has been inspired by the national campaign Who Let The Dads Out? to reach out to dads, granddads and carers in Diss and the wider area.

The event – held in Hope Church in Diss on the second Saturday of every month – gives men a chance to spend some quality time with their children.

Andy Taylor, who teaches at Stradbroke High School, said: “The event is based on the biblical principle to turn fathers’ hearts to their children and children’s hearts to their fathers. It has been fantastic so far and many are grateful for the opportunity to meet other dads.”

Time is spent crafting, playing boardgames, table tennis or on a Wii console.

There are also bacon butties, cereal, coffee and fruit on offer. To take part, a voluntary donation of £2 per family is asked for.

Men are encouraged to show up on the day or, alternatively, email Andy on at.andytaylor@gmail.com.

“I understand it can be quite daunting to step inside a church building, but we welcome all,” he said. “It’s a very relaxed, positive environment.”

The next event will take place on February 9, from 9am to 11am.
