Diss runner and her friend to cover hundreds of miles in memory of son Callum

Two friends are well on their way towards running more than 800 miles to raise money for charity.

Michelle Doe, from Diss, has been running with her friend Carolyn Whittleton as they aim to cover 874 miles each in 2021.

The pair are raising money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and have already passed the £1,700 mark.

Mrs Doe, whose son Callum was cared for by the hospice during the final stages of his battle with cancer, before his death in August, said: “Each have been supporting us for the last two years.

“They provided counselling when we felt we needed it throughout Callum’s illness and also since his death.

“The end-of-life care they gave to Callum was amazing, and we felt as though we were with family. They looked after us all and nothing was too much trouble.”
