Motorsports firm Renvale Ltd take home gold in Mini Cooper racing championship

An Eye-based motorsport electronics firm took home two winner’s cups in a nationally televised Mini Cooper racing championship last month.

At the beginning of the year, Renvale Ltd, based in Eye Road, partnered with fellow motorsports firm Hybrid Tune to compete in the Mini Challenge – part of the British Touring Car Championship.

The races, which were broadcast live on ITV 4, were held at seven different venues across the UK, with the final round held in Kent on Saturday, October 23.

The team’s drivers, Sam Weller and Stephen James, were awarded The Rookie Cup and The Directors Cup, respectively.

Nick Keane, marketing manager at Renvale, said: “The cars are very tricky to drive and set up.

“As we were a new team, we had to work really hard and often had ups and downs along the way. All the guys are incredibly happy with the result and we hope to be even stronger next season.

“We’re really chuffed as it’s really hard to do in the first year.

“We’re also a very small team with a small budget – not bad for a bunch of guys from Diss.”
