More than £200k to be spent to resurface Morrison's roundabout in Diss

Drivers may be in for a smoother ride as hundreds of thousands of pounds will be spent on resurfacing a well-used roundabout in Diss.

The roundabout connecting Victoria Road and Park Road, often known as the Morrisons' roundabout, will be repaired over a series of upcoming Sundays to minimise disruption.

At a Diss Town Council meeting last week, Norfolk county councillor Keith Kiddie said the work will cost about £200,000.

"Roads are a terribly emotive issue, but we are making progress, albeit slowly and with investment still coming in," he said.

"We are still pushing to get investment into Diss and trying to improve the roads the best we can – given our constraints on the A1066."

The county council carried out work to resurface the A1066 in Roydon on Wednesday.

It is thought to have cost £19,000 to complete.
