More than 100 competitors turn up at Stradbroke Swim and Fitness Centre for triathlon

LEARN MOREMore than 100 people put their athleticism to the test last weekend as they took on a gruelling triathlon at Stradbroke Swim and Fitness Centre.
More than 60 people took part in the Super Sprint Triathlon on both Saturday and Sunday May 14 and 15, which saw participants take on a 160-metre swim, followed by a 17-kilometre cycle and finishing with a three-kilometre run.
More than 30 people managed to post a finishing time of under an hour, with Peter Aldred taking first place, completing the course in just over 45 minutes.
The event was organised by New Buckenham husband and wife team Jill and Iain Dawson.
“We were really pleased with the turnout,” said Mr Dawson.
“It’s a real community event and people seemed to really enjoy it.”
