Mere Quacks creator, Mike Webb, hosting ‘Art in the Barn’ exhibition

The creator of the highly-popular Mere Quacks cartoon, which was a fixture of the Diss Express for more than 50 years, is showcasing all of his artistic talents in a new exhibition.

Mike Webb will host Art in the Barn at Long’s Farm Barn in Millway Lane, Palgrave, today, Sunday and Monday, running alongside the village’s open gardens event.

Talking ahead of his latest exhibition, Mr Webb said: “It is a mixture of serious stuff, as well as the cartoons.

“You always hope these things are going to go well, so I hope people will enjoy it when they come to have a look.”

The showcase will include a ‘Mere Quacks Retrospective’, which will focus on some of his original cartoons from the popular series, which spanned more than half a century.

“There are a lot that I have kept over the years, including some really early ones from the series, which are all for sale,” he said.

Mike Webb’s Art in the Barn will take place across the bank holiday weekend, as well as June 1 and 2, between 10am and 4pm, each day.
