King of the Cup in Diss reveals its 2025 champions
Football fans of all ages took to a sports ground to compete to be crowned King of the Cup.
Dubbed “the world’s greatest single-goal knockout competition”, the annual shootout returned to Rectory Meadow Diss on Good Friday.
The event, which featured an adult competition alongside two junior contests, raised £500, which is set to be used to sponsor a local youth team next season.
Committee member Craig Daniels said: “The day was brilliant – the sun came out and there was the usual big crowd, which was great to see.”
Crowd-pleaser Mitch Gooderham came out on top as he was crowned the 2025 champion.
He was joined on the winners’ podium by Matty Whatling and Ernie Brame, who the best of the junior competitors.
“We would like to thank everyone who took part, came to support the day and those that helped put it together,” added Craig. “It was another great team effort.”
