Maple tree roots lift town paving

By Newsdesk Diss

Diss could lose one of its town centre trees – but gain another.

The town council has asked South Norfolk Council for permission to remove a Norway maple near the old tourist information office at Mere’s Mouth as the roots of the tree are lifting paving slabs.

The council, as part of its application, has offered to plant a replacement tree in the park.
