Man seriously injured in crash whilst changing tyre on A11
An appeal has been launched after a pensioner was seriously injured whilst changing his tyre on the A11.
The incident happened at 9.59pm, yesterday (August 14), on the major road shortly after the stag roundabout when a black VW Passat collided with a broken-down white Citroen Saxo, injuring the man.
The road was closed whilst emergency services, including the ambulance service, attended the scene.
The man changing the tyre, aged in his 70s, was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The road was reopened at around 5.15am today (August 15).
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage.
They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the VW Passat’s manner of driving or anyone who saw the broken-down Citroen Saxo in lane one of the northbound carriageway prior to the collision.
