Diss Market Place welcomes Santa for Christmas fund-raiser

Team members from Park Radio paid a visit to Diss Market Place this week to collect money for charity.

A Santa’s sleigh collection on Saturday offered children a chance to have their picture taken with the man in red, while raising money for Mind, the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Norfolk Zipper Club and homeless charity Emmaus.

Park Radio’s Katie Brame said: “We’ve been raising money for charity for the past five years and we did a chocolate bingo fundraiser, which brought in more than £400 in April.

“The Salvation Army band were in the Market Place as well, so we only stayed a couple of hours so as not to draw crowds away from them, but we were able to collect £70, which will be added to our funds.

“It was such a lovely atmosphere at the market, with families enjoying seeing Santa and the band adding some festive music, too.”
