Badwell Ash: Life threatening injuries sustained after van collides with tree




A man was airlifted to hospital after a van collided with a tree in Badwell Ash yesterday morning.

Police were called to attend the single vehicle crash in Badwell Road at around 10.30am.

An ambulance was sent by the East of England Ambulance Service, along with a rapid response vehicle and the Essex and Herts air ambulance.

The man was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge with life threatening injuries and Police have described his condition as "critical."

Having initially been closed, the road has now reopened and traffic is moving normally through the area.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was driving in that area today who may have seen the manner of driving, either immediately before or after the collision, and who has a dash-cam fitted in their vehicle to contact the Roads and Armed Policing Team, quoting CAD 138 and July 30.
