Harleston man appears in court after being charged for Suffolk and Norfolk offences

A Harleston man has appeared in court after being charged with a number of offences, including dangerous driving and burglary in Suffolk and Norfolk yesterday.

At 5.45am, police received a report of collision damage being caused by a van to parked vehicles in St Leger, Long Stratton.

A burglary where a van was stolen from an address in Brandon was also reported to police.

A second burglary was then reported just after 6am where a car was stolen from Shelfanger Road in Diss and a further road traffic collision was reported in the same road.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Brandon just after 8am in connection with the incidents. He was transported to Wymondham police investigation centre for questioning and remanded into custody.

Ashley Byrom, of Harvest Way in Harleston was charged with two counts of dangerous driving, two counts of burglary and two counts of assault on police officers.

He appeared via video link at Norwich Magistrates’ Court today at 10am and was remanded into custody.
