Man arrested in connection with driving offences in Eye

A man has been arrested in connection with driving offences in Eye.

On Tuesday (March 31), at about 12.30pm, police officers stop a man seen driving a black XF Jaguar in the Eye area.

The driver failed to stop for police and a brief pursuit took place – in the process the offending vehicle collided with a curb badly damaged the front wheel and the axle.

The vehicle continued and a short while later collided with a wall.

The suspect then got out of his vehicle and was swiftly arrested.

A man in his 60s from the Eye area was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop and for dangerous driving.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.
