Man arrested in Attleborough in connection with Ipswich firearms incidents

Two people have been arrested in connection with a pair of firearms offences in Ipswich last week.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Attleborough on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of firearms offences and assault GBH.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for question, and has been bailed to return on Wednesday, May 3.

However, he was remanded into custody after being charged in relation to drugs offences for which he was due to appear at Ipswich Magistrate’s Court today.

A second individual, a 24 year old man, was arrested on Friday afternoon in Colchester on suspicion of harassment and was bailed to return to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on 29 April . However, he was recalled to prison for breaching the terms of his licence.

Shortly after 7pm on Monday, March 6, police were called to a firearms incident on Fuchsia Lane. A second firearms incident in Ipswich took place at around 1.30am the following day, at an address in Nacton Crescent. Police believe that these two incidents are linked to an arson attack at a property in west Ipswich, which occurred at around 7.30pm on Monday, March 6.

Three other people a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 32-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incidents have been released on bail. All three have been bailed until Thursday 20 April pending further enquires.
