Man, 54, arrested on suspicion of assault which took place near Rickinghall

Police have arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with an incident where a 30-year-old man was found with head injuries between Finningham and Rickinghall yesterday morning (Thursday May 16).

He was arrested yesterday afternoon in Bury St Edmunds on suspicion of assault and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he remains.

A woman driving a car and who stopped to help the injured man at the side of a road somewhere between Finningham and Rickinghall has also come forward to police.

The injured man remains at West Suffolk Hospital in a stable condition.

Witnesses or anybody who may have any information or relevant dash-cam or mobile phone footage are asked to provide an online update via the constabulary website or by calling West CID on 101 quoting reference 37/27649/19.
