A successful try-before-you-buy offer was pivotal in helping bosses at a primary school make the decision to join a trust.

St Mary’s Church of England Junior School in Long Stratton had been seeing how academy life would affect its 200 pupils for the last 12 months.

Principal Aziza Cranmer said: “Over time, through research, many meetings and discussions, we found not only the answers we were looking for, but also more options than anticipated for taking further steps closer to what we were striving for.”

Richard Cranmer, chief executive of the St Benet’s Multi Academy Trust, said the school’s decision to take up the 12-month trial option before committing to the trust helped them to make an informed decision.

He said: “We could not be more delighted to fully welcome St Mary’s Church of England Junior Academy into the St Benet’s family.”
