A Long Stratton man has been charged in connection with incidents of criminal damage after hundreds of screws were found in the road in the village.

Allan Perkins of St Marys Road, 58, was arrested and later charged with seven counts of criminal damage.

He has been bailed and will appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on November 10.

It comes after officers were called by a number of drivers reporting punctures to tyres after driving over the screws in the town in a series of incidents in August, September and this month.
