Locomotion weekend proves a steamy affair
From the humble road roller to the gleaming fairground showmen’s favourite, a Steam in Miniature show put the spotlight on engines of all shapes and sizes at the weekend.
The two-day event at Bressingham Steam and Gardens has been taking place every year since the early 1990s.
This year, there were 34 working scale models of steam locomotion, ranging from the large and decorative engines used by fairground showmen on the travelling fairs to the road resurfacing rollers used to maintain the highways and byways.
Scales range from two-and-a-half inches to the foot, to larger models approximately half the size of the originals.
