I would like to applaud three local churches for being such good sports for showing the lighter side to religion without losing the true meaning of Christmas.

To St Mary’s in Diss for their lunchtime carols where Canon Tony Billet adorned a Christmas hat, to Diss Methodist Church where ministers Brian and Julian dressed up to perform in their annual pantomime/nativity, and to the Diss Salvation Army where members of their band and congregation also garbed themselves in appropriate attire for the nativity scene for their Christmas service.

Many thanks to you all for showing us you are all human and down to earth and game for a laugh too and don’t have to always be stiff and starchy. Well done.
