Well done Diss, what a turnout for the eighth Diss Carnival on Sunday, June 14.

The committee would like to express thanks to everyone for supporting the carnival yet again and say a special thanks to all who took part in the procession, had a stall or took part in a display.

This year’s procession was the longest yet, prompting many positive comments with the new attractions proving very popular.

If anyone has any suggestions for next year or would like to use the mascot costume for their event then please contact me at doreencollins@btinternet.com.

It takes nine months of carnival committee meetings and roughly £6,000 to stage but it’s always pleasing and worthwhile when so many people line the streets and visit the football club to support us.

My personal thanks go to the committee for their dedication and hard work over the last year, the town council and local media for their continued support and to all the residents for coming on the day.

Once again many thanks to everyone for your continued support, I look forward to seeing you all at next year’s carnival on Sunday, June 12.

Doreen Collins
