LETTER - ‘Government is hellbent on attacking public sector’
David Cameron should remove Jeremy Hunt as Health Secretary before any more junior doctors decide to leave the NHS either to work abroad or to work through agencies.
Since the doctors dispute started, well over 6,000 have either left or have applied via a process, to work abroad.
Even the chairperson of the House of Commons select committee, Conservative MP Dr Woollaston’s own daughter, also a doctor, is working abroad.
The country is witnessing a fundamental attack by the government, not only in the health service but in education where there are severe shortages of teachers, due to non recruitment and people leaving or retiring early.
It appears the government is hellbent on attacking public sector unions by the use of curbing union members ability to take industrial action and refusing to negotiate through the use of the imposition of new contracts.
