LETTER: Contractors should work day and night to keep the traffic flowing

Can somebody, the council or an MP perhaps, do something about road work contractors.

We see roads closed or traffic lights all over the county and very often there is nothing happening.

I have seen traffic lights being installed on a Friday morning and then passing along the same road on a Monday evening and nothing has happened.

Road works.
Road works.

The other week the road to Attleborough was closed (not for the first time this year), but when I got to the work site there was a hole in the road and no one in sight. In the evening I came back and exactly the same.

Can you imagine the railway maintenance workers doing that, closing a line and then disappearing for a day or two.

Contractors should be made to put up signs when work starts and work through until its done, day and night if necessary, before removing the signs straight away.
