Lead from church roof is stolen in Dennington


Police are appealing for information after lead was stolen from a north Suffolk church’s roof earlier this week.

It happened at St Mary’s Church at Dennington, between 7pm on Monday and 7.30am on Tuesday.

It is thought about 30 ft by 10 ft was taken from the roof of the church.

Police are renewing appeals for residents to report any suspicious activity by dialling 999, after house-to-house enquiries revealed noises had been heard around 5am and a vehicle with no lights on had been seen leaving the area.

A spokesperson for the police the investigation into recent incidents is continuing.

Anyone who may have any information about this theft or those responsible is asked to call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number LE/15/1087.
