Palgrave Players all set to stage first performance of Jack the Ripper - The Musical - at Botesdale Village Hall
A newly formed musical theatre group is putting on its first performance next week.
Palgrave Players was only formed in March and already has 40 members.
It will be staging Jack the Ripper - The Musical at Botesdale Village Hall between Thursday, November 3, and Saturday, November 5, when there will also be a matinee.
The group was formed by Cathal Prendergast and Nicola Diggins.
The current musical is a whimsical tour of the back streets of East London in 1888.
Felicity Humfress, who is directing the show, said: “In spite of the title, it’s a knees-up kind of show.
“It’s good fun and is actually quite a challenge for the newly formed cast with mostly singing and dancing.”
The story is based on the unidentified serial killer, whose name comes from a letter sent to the London Central News Agency by someone claiming to be the murderer.
The show comes to life with a number of colourful characters, including cross-dressing policeman.
Tickets are £12 and £8 from www.ticketsource.co.uk
