Declan Craggs has been selected as the new town mayor for Diss




Diss has a new mayor.

Cllr Declan Craggs was elected as town mayor for 2025-26 by Diss Town Council at its recent full council meeting.

Cllr Craggs has been a town councilor since March 2024. He runs a small business and is a governor at Diss infant and junior schools.

He said: “It’s a real privilege and honour to be selected as town mayor.

“I’m looking forward to supporting Diss as a thriving and vibrant community.

“I recognise that there are always improvements to be made and I will work with local organisations, councils and local people to ensure we get the best outcomes possible.

“ I’d also like to extend my thanks to the outgoing mayor, Cllr Murphy, for his outstanding service and his remarkable efforts in raising funds for his chosen charity.”

Cllr Craggs has chosen to support Friends of Diss Primary Academy Partnership PTA during his tenure.
