Investigation launched after Norfolk Police discover vehicle ‘chop shop’ in Snetterton
Police have launched an investigation after a large vehicle 'chop shop' was discovered in Snetterton last week.
Officers were made aware of suspicious activity taking place inside a unit at Snetterton Business Park in Harling Road on Thursday..
They discovered four stolen cars and a number of other car parts which are also thought to be stolen.
It’s believed the premises was being used as a 'chop shop' - where vehicles are illegally dismantled or 'chopped up' for parts and sold on for a profit.
Officers have spent five days dismantling the site and inquiries are now underway to ensure the safe return of the vehicles, which were stolen in London, to their owners.
A man in his 20s was arrested at a property in Norwich on Friday on suspicion of theft, handling stolen goods and possession of drugs (Class B or C).
He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has since been released on bail until January 2025.
Anyone with any information about the chop shop is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 36/77952/24.
