Investigation launched after car gets stuck under Palgrave level crossing barrier




An investigation is under way after a car became trapped under a railway crossing barrier.

The incident happened in Palgrave, Suffolk, around midday today.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Palgrave level crossing shortly after 12pm today following reports of a car getting stuck under the barrier.

"The car was safely removed and enquiries are ongoing."

A spokesman for Suffolk Police, who were also at the scene said: "When we arrived the male driver was out of the vehicle.

"British Transport Police were called as were Network Rail, and the level crossing was reset. The barrier was undamaged."

It is unclear at this stage how long the crossing was out of action.
