Inaugural beer festival success for Diss and District Round Table

Cheers were had and drinks flowed as Diss and District Round Table celebrated the success of its first beer festival.

The two-day event at Diss Rugby Club featured 18 brewed beers from the likes of Ampersand, Tindall, Grain and Woodforde’s, as well as music and entertainment.

Marc Drury, co-organiser of the festival, felt it had been great.

“We only reformed just over two years ago,” he said. “We have done a couple of events so we decided to do a beer festival. It went really well. 860 pints of beer were drunk and around £4,000 raised.”

Mr Drury said the group would now discuss where the money should go out to in the community.

“I want to say thank you to everyone that attended, our sponsors and the rugby club,” he said. “We appreciated people coming out of town to Roydon to be a part of our first festival.

“There is nothing better than having a beer and doing your bit for charity, which is exactly what everyone did.”
