Several hunting hounds die in Great Moulton railway incident near Diss




Several dogs have died after hunting hounds strayed on to railway lines at Great Moulton near Diss.

At least six of the hounds made their way on to the tracks while being exercised at around 8.45am yesterday before being struck by the Norwich to London Liverpool Street service.

Up to four hounds were killed in the incident, with services having been briefly disrupted until 9am yesterday morning.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: "Services were disrupted yesterday morning after the 08.30 Norwich to London Liverpool Street service struck a number of dogs on the track near Diss. Greater Anglia and Network Rail are currently looking into how the dogs came to be on the tracks.

“It happened at 08.45 and services were able to run normally from 09.00.

“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. Anyone who was delayed can claim delay repay at greateranglia.co.uk/delayrepay”

The British Transport Police have been approached for comment.
