It was the best end to what was a pretty terrible day.

Stephanie Hayhoe, 26, a market manager at Joules in Burnham Market, was returning to her Hethersett home after learning that her place of work was closing due to restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of coronavirus.

Much to her surprise, she found boyfriend Nathan Harper in their back garden, on one knee and surrounded by pictures of the couple.

Mr Harper had planned a surprise party to pop the question, but, due to Covid-19, improvised – and still got the answer he was hoping for.
