Harleston slimmer says new her is ‘poles’ apart
A Harleston mother says her confidence is so high after shedding three-and-a-half stone she has taken up pole dancing.
Kim Hailey 27, lost the weight in ten months since joining the Slimming World Group in Harleston, dropping 5 dress sizes, from a 16 to an 6-8.
“Feeling like the ‘fat friend’ was the last straw for me,” she said.
“I felt unattractive, unwanted and I didn’t have the energy to run around with my seven-year-old son,” she says.
“I actually eat the same things now as before - stews, roast dinners, pasta dishes - but they’re all made from scratch. I eat out as well, I just make healthier choices.”
As well as her significant weight loss, Kim has found the confidence to take up a new hobby.

“I started pole dancing, which I would have never had the confidence to do before,” she explained.
“I’m now at level four!
“I wear all the clothes I always dreamed about wearing and I can finally keep up with my son. I feel amazing.”
She praised the support of the Slimming World Group in her bid to shed the pounds.
“Going to IMAGE (Individual Motivation and Group Experience) therapy each week has been key,” she said.
“It’s important that I make time for myself and know that I’m not alone.”
Hannah Balaam runs the Harleston group which Kim attends, and hopes this will show others what they can achieve.
“Whether you’ve got a little or a lot of weight to lose, slimming down can make a big difference to how you feel about yourself,” she said.
The Harleston Slimming World group takes place at Archbishop Sancroft High School every Tuesday at 5.30pm & 7.30pm or King George’s Hall every Monday at 10am.
