Diss business 20th anniversary as open hours are extended to 24/7
A Diss business has followed up its 20th anniversary by becoming the first gym in the town to open 24/7.
Diss Fit Club celebrated the milestone with a strongman day in the summer, and launched the soft opening of its 24-hour service on February 27.
Operations manager Anouska Stott said: “It is a massive step for us and the local community are appreciating the fact they can go to the gym any time now, which helps a lot of the shift workers in town and the local areas.
“The amateur strongman event was the our first event we have put on at the club, and we hope it will become an annual attraction.
“I think the key to our success in the past 20 years has been our friendly and knowledgeable staff, the constant improvements to the club, the presence of a lot of long-term members and offering a wide range of equipment and training techniques.
“We have followed the city gyms and implemented a 24-hours opening as more people want to train outside of traditional opening hours.”
The gym in Hopper Way has a broad spectrum of members, from teenagers up to those aged 70 and over – all looking to achieve different fitness goals.
Its staff offer programmes to help with these goals, with personal training sessions available for those who need that extra push.
“It is rewarding to work with all ages and help them to achieve their goals, especially if it is more challenging to achieve,” added Anouska.
“In the future, we will be reinvesting to ensure the longevity of the club and also the changing requirements for training.
“We are happy to be able to invest in becoming a 24-hour gym as our business model continues to go from strength to strength.”
“I’m sure that new equipment will be in the pipeline at some point but I’m not sure of plans for any other sites at this point in time.”
