Hartismere School students welcomed Scole’s Duncan Slater earlier this month to present a mammoth £1,000 cheque for his charity, Walking With The Wounded.

The money was raised towards the end of the last year, mainly through the sale of ceramic poppies to mark the centenary of the start of the First World War, while the rest of the total was made up through the Christmas fair, organised by Year 9 form groups.
