David and Vivienne Taylor, of St Clare’s Church in Framlingham, commended for 37 years supporting Suffolk Churches Ride and Stride
A couple have been praised for their loyal support for Suffolk’s churches spanning almost four decades.
David and Vivienne Taylor, members of the congregation at St Clare’s Church in Framlingham, were presented with a certificate for their involvement with the annual Suffolk Churches Ride and Stride over 37 years.
Event chairman Simon Ronan said: “It is the sole fundraising event for the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust and this year raised £193,794.02
“The trust relies on people like David and Vivienne to help make this event possible, so it gives me great pleasure to award certificates of long service.
“It is a small token of our gratitude, but also an expression of the importance they are to our charity.”
The Ride and Stride event has been running for 40 years and sees hundreds of walkers and cyclists make their way between churches across the county.
This year’s event is due to take place on Saturday, September 13.
It will once again run alongside a vintage and classic car rally, which sees car drivers travel on one of six routes on the same day.
