Rob Connelly, headteacher of Harleston Sancroft Academy, said the number of his GCSE students achieving the very highest grades was a school record this year.

He added: “We are immensely proud of what the Sancroft Class of 2024 have achieved, surpassing previous outcomes in the vast majority of subject areas.

“It reflects not only the commitment of our students, but also the hard work and fantastic support they received from teachers, support staff, parents and carers. This was a real team effort and a true reflection of this very special community.”

Over the border in Suffolk, Year 11 students at Hartismere School in Eye achieved an impressive set of results with 80 per cent of pupils achieving grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics.

Co-headteachers Geoff Luxton and Sarah Gray, said: “These results are a testimony to the hard work of all our staff, governors and students and to the support given to them by their families.”

And finally, 168 students sat exams at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, with 77 per cent of all grades at the Saxtead Road school being 4+ or higher and 74 per cent of pupils achieving grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics.

Georgia Ingold, Head of Year said, “I am so proud of the cohort. Their results are testament to their hard work and dedication.

“There are some exceptional grades at the top but also some equally commendable personal achievements across the board.”

Headteacher Philip Hurst, added: “They have made tremendous progress, achieved well, and can go forward with confidence. I thank the staff for their superb commitment and also the parents for their support.”
