GCSE Results 2019: Debenham High School

Headteacher at Debenham High School, Julia Upton, was also pleased with the results.

Of the 133 students, 71 per cent achieved a grade 5 or above in English and maths.

“Once again, staff and students have grappled, and mastered, the challenges of the new, demanding GCSE examinations,” said Miss Upton.

“We are pleased to see that hard work and dedication has been rewarded in their grades.

"Whilst we are in our third year of the new GCSE examinations, comparison to previous years is difficult, however it appears as though as well as pleasing raw scores, students in this year group have made excellent progress from their starting points.

"We are delighted that we send out into the next stage of their life, capable young people, who will make a positive mark on the world."
