Attleborough’s Peter Beales Garden Centre on sale for £1.45M with Christie & Co
A garden centre in Attleborough has been put on the market for £1.45 million.
Peter Beales Garden Centre, along with its online rose-selling branch Peter Beales Roses and tea rooms, was placed on the market with Christie & Co on Thursday.
Tom Glanvill, director in Christie & Co’s garden centre team, described the business as “one of the most exciting opportunities to come on the market in recent years”.
He added: “With a combined turnover in excess of £2.3m per annum, and huge scope for further growth, this business could be a great add-on for an existing garden centre group.
“It may also appeal to a newcomer to the sector who is looking to buy a trading business. In this case, they will get the benefit of the exceptional brand and heritage that comes with owning one of the best-known rose growers in the country.”
Peter Beales Garden Centre and its online platform is an independently run business, which trades from a 10-acre freehold site.
The garden centre has undergone significant recent renovations, including a large extension to its Rosarium restaurant. The sale also includes a detached bungalow located on the site.
The company’s business director, Kenneth March, said: “The garden centre business has been growing at a faster rate than industry averages and the large site includes a significant proportion that is currently undeveloped, so this opportunity offers considerable long-term scope for the new owner to continue growing the business and develop the site.
“In addition, Peter Beales Roses has a high reputation for quality roses and has won 28 gold medals at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show and many other accolades besides.
“It also has an active rose-breeding programme, having introduced many new roses over the years.”
