Palgrave Boardgame Club wants more members after first year

A small village club has issued a rallying cry for more boardgame fans to join them – and score big.

First set up in 2024 by husband-and-wife team George Georgiou and Pauline Salmon, Palgrave Boardgame Club is celebrating its first anniversary.

“We love boardgames and we thought we could bring that to the village, get more people involved and make it a sociable event,” explained Mr Georgiou.

“We have about seven people who are regulars, but we would love to get more people through the door and playing as well.”

Players can pop along, play and learn games such as chess, Scrabble, backgammon or Yahtzee.

Alternatively, people are welcome to take their own games to teach other players.

“We are always willing to learn new games and love it when people bring their favourites,” said Mr Georgiou.

The Palgrave Boardgame Club meets at the village hall every Wednesday, between 1pm and 3pm.
