The Rotary Club of High Suffolk was moved by the plight of those suffering from flooding in Somerset and elsewhere in the UK and resolved to hold a collection to assist those in need.

The Somerset Community Foundation has established an appeal under the name of the Somerset Emergency Flood Relief Fund Appeal and The Rotary Club of High Suffolk in the company of The Rotary Club of Framlingham, and decided to collect in the car park of the Co-op store in Framlingham last Saturday for that cause.

They were delighted with the response which raised a total of £566, the whole of which will be sent to the appeal administrators.

It was notable that support was accompanied by comments that praised the subject of the collection, including those who resolved to increase their contribution after recognising the object of the appeal

Both Rotary Clubs wish to record their heartfelt thanks to the people of Framlingham and surrounding areas who so generously gave their donations.
