Former writer on The Archers and kid’s TV show Rainbow, Michael Bartlett, comes to Diss Publishing with new book




A town bookshop welcomed a former writer of a world-famous radio show for a meet and greet signing event.

Diss Publishing hosted Michael Bartlett, a novelist and former writer on Radio 4’s The Archers and iconic children’s TV show Rainbow, at the Mere Street shop.

The Starston author met fans and signed copies of his new book, Return to My Village in the Valley.

His new publication is the sequel to his popular short story collection, My Village in the Valley.

Anya Temple from the bookshop said: “We had quite a lot of interest and since then people have come back and bought his book.

“He is such a lovely man, always good for an interesting chat and has some great stories from his years of writing.”

Becoming a professional writer in 1972, Mr Bartlett has written around 15 radio plays as well as several adaptations of novels for theatre companies.
