Thomas Cook branch in Diss reopens

The Thomas Cook branch in Diss is one of many across the country that reopened last week since the takeover by Hays Travel.

The travel agent agreed a deal to buy all former Thomas Cook stores after the holiday company went bust last month.

The branch on Market Place was among 555 shops which closed, before reopening on Thursday, October 17.

The branch reopened last week.

A spokesman said: “We are pleased to announce that Hays Travel has employed the original Thomas Cook staff and we will be selling all major tour operators, including Jet 2 and Tui.

“Pop in and say hello. Emma, Lizzie and Jan will be pleased to welcome customers old and new.”

In a previous statement, group chairman John Hays said: “Thomas Cook was a much-loved brand employing talented people. We look forward to working with many of them.”
