Former pupils wanted for Long Stratton Secondary Modern School reunion

A call has gone out to the class of 1977 and classmates of the 1970s in general at the former Long Stratton Secondary Modern School for a reunion.

Mark Bancroft, Victor Harwin, Annie Martin and Bridget Greensitt (nee Ramm) have kept in touch over the years and in response to the suggestion made every time they meet, they are now organising the long-awaited reunion, to be held in Tasburgh Village Hall on Saturday March 14 from 7pm.

Mrs Greensitt said: “We expect to spend the first couple of hours working out who’s who and catching up with each other before reliving our youth and (maybe) revisiting our wardrobe with a 1970s disco.”

Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the night and are available from Bridget Greensitt on 01508 471537, Vic Harwin on 07775 650 645, The Chip Inn, Long Stratton or The Countryman, Tasburgh.

Anyone who attended in the school at any point in the 1970s is welcome.
