King of the Cup football competition returns to Diss on Good Friday

A football event dubbed ‘the world’s greatest single-goal knockout competition’ will return to Diss on Good Friday.

King of the Cup will see football fans and their families pack out Rectory Meadow in what promises to be a fun day out.

Keeping with tradition, this year’s event will feature an adult competition, alongside two junior contests – one for ages seven to 11, and the other for primary schoolchildren.

In the adult section, James Edwards will be looking for an unprecedented three wins in a row following his remarkable victory last year, when he became the oldest winner at 37.

Away from the football, the day will include a bouncy castle, food and ice cream vendors and a bar.

Things get under way at 11am, with the adult tournament kicking off at noon.

The entry fee for the adults taking part in King of the Cup is £10, with juniors free.

All money raised on the day will go towards sponsoring a youth football team.
