Norwich fatal house fire were body of woman in her 70s was found is not suspicious, say police
A fatal house fire which happened in Norwich on Boxing Day is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to assist Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service at 4.22am on December 26, following reports of a fire at a property in Caterford Drive.
The body of a woman in her 70s was discovered in the property and though formal identification has yet to take place, her next of kin has been informed. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
A cordon which was put up at the scene while police crime scene investigators and a fire investigation team worked to establish the circumstances of the fire, has now been lifted.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the cause of the blaze was undetermined but not suspicious and investigations have concluded.
