Eye Town Council will hold an extraordinary meeting next week to consider their response to an outline planning application for up to 280 homes in the town.

Pegasus, a planning and development consultancy working with the local landowner to develop the plans, propose the new homes, as well as a 60-bed residential care home, on land south of Eye Airfield.

Access to the site is proposed from Castleton Way and Langton Grove.

The application was submitted to Mid Suffolk District Council at the start of the month.

It is part of the Mid Suffolk District Council Core Strategy, from 2008, when at least 200 homes were allocated on the land north west of the town.

The meeting will be held in the council chamber of Eye Town Hall on Wednesday, November 4, at 6.30pm. The public are welcome to attend.
