Eye care home thanks community for lifting spirits

Staff at an Eye care home have thanked its community for its continued support of residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Hartismere Place, in Castleton Way, has been inundated with letters and drawings from children, donated items from its local Morrison’s store and offers of help from volunteers.

Home manager Abhilash Gopi said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families. It really has kept everyone going.”

Mr Gopi said staff at the home, which provides full-time residential and nursing care as well as short-term respite, had been humbled by messages from families praising their dedication during the crisis.
