Explosion heard after car fire in Thrandeston

A member of the public called the fire service after hearing an explosion in Thrandeston last night.

Fire crews were called to farmland in Mellis Road at about 7.48pm, arriving at the scene to find a Volvo on fire.

They battled the blaze for about two hours, with the incident under control at 9.57pm.

No one was reported to have been hurt in the blaze.
