Expansion to meet increased demand for places at Long Stratton school
A Long Stratton infant and nursery school has gained permission to expand in response to increased demand for places.
Norfolk County Council’s Children’s Services department identified an immediate need for more space at the Manor Field School.
As a result of the permission, the school will be able to put up a temporary modular building incorporating six bays, catering for two classbases, for a period of five years.
It will replace a smaller two bay modular building.
A statement supporting the application said: “As a result of demand for school places and the continuing growth in Long Stratton, there is a need for further classbase facilities at the school to meet the requirement for Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils.”
It will be on land to the rear of the main school buildings and four extra parking spaces will be created to accommodate the two extra staff required.
