Headteacher says partnership between Forncett and Carleton Rode primary schools 'a perfect fit'
A headteacher has spoken of her excitement as her primary school prepares to enter a partnership agreement later this year.
Judith Jones has been the headteacher of Forncett Primary School for the last nine years, and believes the partnership with Carleton Rode Primary School will be a perfect match.
"The school is a very good fit for us," she explained.
"We share the same ethos and values, and we are both very friendly and welcoming schools."
Mrs Jones has also acted as interim headteacher at Carleton Rode since Easter, spending one day a week at the school.
From September, Forncett's first-ever partnership will see the schools working closely on development plans and share policies, subject leadership, training, residential trips, activities and work moderation.
Pupils, staff and governors have already become acquainted with one another through social get-togethers, with pupils visiting both schools.
Mrs Jones added: "Carleton Rode was looking for a new headteacher and we had been scouting for a partner.
"This presented us with an excellent opportunity and allows us to secure the schools' futures moving forward.
"Parents have been overwhelmingly supportive and understanding. It should be a smooth transition, as school partnerships now seem to be the norm.
"It's vital that schools work as closely together as possible."
